We at Origins Education hope you and your loved ones are staying safe. These are extraordinary times around the world, but we will get through it together. The Origins Family is taking preventative measures to maintain the health and safety of children and staff. We have small groups: each school has 2 classes and each class has no more than 7 children. Staff follow strict sanitation, disinfecting, and hand-washing guidelines. We are also adding a weekly professional electrostatic disinfection of every room at each location. Additionally, we have implemented the following policies and procedures:

  • Staff will check their temperature upon arrival. Masks are recommended for all unvaccinated staff and families.

  • If there are new outbreaks, students will have temperature taken upon arrival, before being left.

  • Staff and students asked wash hands and/or use sanitizer upon arrival, before sign-in.

  • Staff and families may use touchless QR code to electronically sign in.

  • Children will stay home if there are cases confirmed in a public school orworkplace where you or your family members attend.

  • If there is a confirmed case of a student, family member, or staff member at any of our schools, we may establish another short-term closure procedure based onadvice from our local health department.

  • If anyone in the household is ill with COVID symptoms, even if the child is not showing any, we ask that you keep the child home for the household members full quarantine.

We want to share with you all our updated COVID 19 tuition policy. Since we are in a completely unpredictable time and we all have already experienced multiple disruptions in our work or home lives with businesses closing or having to quarantine, we have crafted a new policy regarding possible exposures and closures.

  • We are in a time where being in public and interacting with others in group settings carry an inherent risk and Origins is happy to share that risk with you as we cannot shoulder the entire financial burden. We are all in this global situation together and as we walk this walk with our families, we will absorb half of the risk. If we have to close due to contacts, quarantines for students or staff, or for mandates, we will give 50% credit for days that we are closed and not available to you, for any day that your non-symptomatic child was contractually scheduled. The credit will be applied to your account to go against the next billed month’s tuition.

  • If there is a close contact to a school by parent, student or staff, the infected person will not return to campus for a minimum of 5 days, but can return on day 6, if they are non-symptomatic and provide proof of a negative test. If they choose not to test, they will remain out for 10 days or until no longer symptomatic, whichever is longer. The school affected will close for 24 hours if the contact was asymptomatic and 48 hours if they were symptomatic to allow staff time to be tested. If we have enough staff to work, we will re-open for any non-symptomatic children to return after 24 or 48 hours respectively.

  • We will notify families immediately of any close contacts that were on campus within the past 24 hours. If we have enough negative testing staff, we will reopen in 24 - 48 hours. If we do not have enough negative-testing staff, we will re-open as soon as we have enough available healthy staff. We will keep families informed of these details.

  • If a family chooses to keep their child out of school on their own abundance of caution even when we are open, we will credit 25% of their tuition up through the end of the 5 day quarantine period.

  • If we are closed due to COVID-19 community shut-downs, we will continue our curriculum online, including full resources for you to be able to use at home. We will do our Zoom circle time meetings, marco polo chats and we will be available (teachers and admin) to assist you with curriculum implementation at home.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Warmly,
